Hey Fitness Fans,
Has everyone discovered WHY they want to work out? If not, check out the first blog post for some more information. If you have - great! Now we can set some goals. When you are setting your goals, you want to remember to make them S.M.A.R.T.
S = Specific
Make sure that your goal is simple and straight-forward. If you don't understand it, or understand how to get there, you won't be able to reach it!
M = Measurable
Make your goal, and all of the steps to reaching your goal, measurable. You can use number of reps (15 lunges), time (ran for 20 minutes) or any other measure. And make sure you keep track of it too!
A = Attainable
This is the most important in my opinion. This needs to be based on your current fitness level and where you want to be. No one is going to lose 50 pounds in 2 weeks - that's not a good goal. Make sure it's something you can do and then you can reward yourself for meeting it!
R = Realistic
This goes hand in hand with A. The last thing you need is an unrealistic goal to derail you on your fitness track. And remember, just because the person next to you on the treadmill is running longer doesn't mean that you haven't met YOUR goal.
T = Timely
Give yourself a timeline to meet your goal. If you don't you'll never meet it. It's just like work - for me, if I don't have a deadline for something, I'll never get it done. So make yourself a timeline - and make sure you accomplish that goal!
OK Passporters! Make your goals! Once you have them set, you can actually start achieving them!
